A New Beginning!

It's been quite a long time since this blog has been updated.  After several attempts at more elaborate programs, layouts etc. I've decided that this one will work just fine!
Life has certainly changed a lot for us. We've married kids off had several grand babies and moved (twice) since I last updated this blog. I think the best way to begin is to just start where we are right now.

In January (2023) we found that we had an opportunity to move to Florida.  Brian's job had a position for him in Lakeland.  We had thought that we were going to be transferred to this area a couple of years ago but circumstances dictated that we decline the offer.  We knew that retiring in Florida was something we hoped to do so when the opportunity arose again we were thrilled.

In February, we drove to Florida to house hunt and enjoy a week with our daughter and her husband at Disney.  (Highly recommend doing this with your adult children!).  We brought everything Brian would need to set up a good living situation as he would stay in Florida and begin his job as soon as our Disney time was done.

We looked at several houses that we had found online and found the perfect one immediately.  We made an offer which was quickly accepted.  I have to tell you that buying a house for me is fun, Selling is another story!  I suspect this is the case for most who are trying to sell.  I returned to Texas alone and within 3 days of my return our incredible agent (Sally Garza) worked her magic and our house sold within hours of being listed on the MLS.

Because the market in San Antonio was difficult at the time we anticipated it would take awhile to sell and so had scheduled movers for the second week of April.  We closed on our new home on my birthday (3/19).  Nice birthday gift don't you think?  We closed on our San Antonio home April 10.  Our household goods were delivered April 15th.  This move was the smoothest move we have ever had! Everything just fell into place kinda like God had a hand in it! 😉

We've been busy settling in and learning our way around our new town and the surrounding area.  Side note: we are only 30 minutes from Disney! 😊
As you can see from the above pictures our back yard view isn't half bad!

Until the next time,
    ~ Sue
