A Few Thoughts On Leadership
A few thoughts on leadership. Lately there seem to be lots of FB posts regarding leadership. While the topic of leadership has been popular for several years it seems to pop up on my feed quite a bit these days. Having been in several leadership roles over the years it is a topic that always holds an interest for me. I've been through all kinds of leadership courses, seminars and surveys. All of them have had basic tenants that remain the same. I've made more than my fair share of mistakes in spite of my "head knowledge". One thing I've learned is that it really doesn't matter how "educated you are on the topic if you don't practice what you know. Here are a few of the things I know. 1: You must respect those you lead. Being in a leadership role does not place you somehow "above" your team, employees, family members etc. Everything you do and say needs to communicate respect.
