Spring Gardens
I really got started late this year in the gardens. There were lots of reasons for this but suffice it to say I've felt like I was playing catch up for the past few weeks! These Day Lilies are in their second season. I've fallen in love with Day Lilies. They are so hardy and drought tolerant. I bought a half dozen of them last year. They are all different varieties. These are the first to bloom. The Vitex is in full bloom as well! This shrub, which will eventually be a 8-10' tree smells like grape kool-aid! The new fence was installed a couple of weeks ago. I'm so glad to have that broken down one gone! I've planted Hyacinth Bean Vine along it so it should be covered with beautiful purple blooms in a couple of months. I chose this particular vine because it is fast growing and attracts hummingbirds and butterflies! My rosemary is getting quite large! I've got some cuttings rooting on the kitchen windowsill.
