Tea
A couple of weeks ago I visited my best friend Ali in Florida for a week of total laziness. It was great! I read an entire book, took walks, sat on the beach, ate too much seafood and spent time with one of the best friends and cooks that I know!
One afternoon we decided to go to the mall. Why do we do that? Every time we go on vacation we decide to go to "The Mall". I don't even like "The Mall"! I don't like to shop! Unless of course its a Gardening/Landscaping store or a Cooking Shop!
Anyway, we were almost done with our "walk" around the mall when I spotted a little tea shop. Now, if you know anything about me, you know that I LOVE tea. LOTS of tea! My absolute favorite morning tea is Earl Grey. I've been drinking Revolution Earl Grey Lavender tea for months now. In my opinion, if you put lavender in anything it is bound to be amazing! (I love all things lavender too!)
Well, after a short scan around this little shop we were approached by the owner. She proceeded to do a fantastic job of selling her liquid wonderfulness to us just by letting us smell the different blends. Before I knew it I was walking out with nearly $50 worth of loose tea. Somehow she managed to get Ali to spend just as much! (I'm pretty sure she saw a couple of suckers coming a mile away!)
Ali got some Masala Chai and some EnergTea. The EnergTea is a blend of several herbs and spices and really does give you a little "boost". I know this because I pilfered some of Ali's tea one afternoon. Ali wanted the Masala Chai as her morning "wake me up" tea as she is trying to give up coffee. She LOVES this blend and says it really does "wake her up"!
I picked the "House Tea", an herbal concotion that is simply wonderful. I also got something called "Earl Grey De La Creme". Oh. My. Goodness! The smell was wonderful but little did I know how incredibly amazing this stuff would taste! It is simply THE BEST!
Now, lest you are sitting there asking... "How in the world did you spend so much money on just a couple of teas?", we did get a few other little tea making essentials.
I usually get my loose teas from "Mecca" (Central Market) here in San Antonio but this little shop was actually cheaper and had a much more extensive variety of tea.
Their teas are sold by the 2oz. size and run anywhere from $3.50 for 2oz. to as much as $10.00 for 2oz. If you think you'd like to take a look you can find their website at: www.tiffanysteasandcrafts.com
It only took me a couple of weeks to go through 4oz of the Earl Grey De La Creme. My son is dating as sweet girl who loves tea almost as much as I do! Whenever she is here we always brew some tea. I really think I like this girl! ;) I just placed an order for more tea. This time I ordered my Earl Grey De La Creme (6oz this time!) and a Cranberry Tea. I can't wait to try the Cranberry Iced!
If you haven't had a nice cup of tea lately, do yourself a favor and go make a cup (or pot). There's just something wonderful about having a great cup of tea.
